The Honeycatz

The Honeycatz are a vibrant, stylish and versatile ensemble of experienced jazz musicians centred around the effervescent, sultry vocals and double bass of Trentham’s Liz Frencham and the masterful guitar work of Daylesford local Myles White.
With over 15 years of experience in enthusiastically meeting the varied needs of audiences, let Liz and Myles add that final sparkle to your event. Whether playing smooth cocktail hour standards, gentle background covers or getting you dancing with rhythmic old school funk and blues, you'll appreciate the heightened atmosphere of The Honeycatz.
The Honeycatz are available in varied formats from a simple guitar and double bass/vocal duo right up to a 4 piece party ensemble with drums and horns. They can travel with their own sound production, lighting and audio engineer to ensure that your evening purrs along smoothly.
Liz studied Jazz performance at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and has been working full time as a musician ever since. She is an experienced session double-bassist and vocalist who has been employed by household names like the The Waifs, and was once flown from Canada to England to add her distinctive style to an album for English songwriting team Chris While & Julie Matthews.
Her natural habitat, however, is the stage. She has become an audience favourite on the music festival circuit with bands like Jigzag, Dev’lish Mary and Frencham Smith, where her smiling presence is universally appreciated. There is something undeniably sensual about the way her double bass and body become indistinguishable in full flight. Add to this a velvet-warm voice and a cheeky girl-next-door attitude and you will go some way to understanding her appeal.
Myles is the perfect accompanist. He is a talented, versatile and emotive guitarist who has performed in a range of bands supporting artists such as James Morrison and Tommy Emmanuel. He is also an experienced session player having recorded with Dave Gardner, Joe Chindamo, Dave Beck and Ben Robertson. Added to these skills is his experience in Big Bands such as The Radio Rhythm Orchestra, Moovin'and Groovin' Orchestra and his regular work with smaller jazz ensembles led by such jazz luminaries as Bob Sedergreen.
Myles has shared the stage with Slava and Leonard Grigoryan, Doug de Vries and Geoff Achison, amongst many other fine musicians.
The Honeycatz- The perfect flexible, elegant ensemble with that extra unforgettable touch.
